Are beloved by mommy, daddy, relatives, and you grow

Learn to speak, to walk, some bad words, and you grow

Go to kindergarten, make first friends, are disciplined, and you grow

Learn reading, writing, more bad words, and you grow

Know people, take primary steps in sex, subject first, and you grow

Kiss somebody, start dating, get frustrated, and you grow

Find happiness and depression, taking turns, one shot each, and you grow

Go to university, choose a career, surgeon or astronaut, and you grow

Job, marriage, divorce, other marriage, career, and you grow

Have a child, have more children, and you grow

Hired, fired, hired in a better, maybe worse, company, and you grow

Across the way have sad thoughts, leave friends behind, make new ones, and you grow

Now old, with lots of tales to tell grandchildren, and keep growing

And in the end, when you can grow no more, there is nothing left of you

And your children grow
